As the January transfer window was heading towards a boring exit, England midfielder Frank Lampard has waved goodbye to the Stamford Bridge crowd and has made his way to Atletico Madrid on a 5 year deal. No price was released but according to a local bookie in England, Frank Lampard's transfer could be in the estimations of 5 to 6 million pounds due to his low release clause. Lampard who joined Chelsea from West Ham in 2001 said that he wanted to try something new and follow the footsteps of former England captain David Beckham by moving to Spain.Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti who was interviewed a few hours ago said that Frank Lampard was always selfish in the field and would choose to train by himself other than train with the teammates.Ancelotti also claimed that the main reason Lampard left for Atletico Madrid was because he wanted to get rid of the 50% income tax set by the British government. Pictures of Lampard was shot in the Spanish Capital as he made his way to the Atletico Madrid training ground.
